To cope, Carmilla throws herself into toxic distractions: hooking up with a Mormon closeted lesbian whose blood tastes like repression, and murdering men (even though she finds masculine blood absolutely revolting.) Torn between hunger and heartbreak, Carmilla's unlife is spiraling. But obsession, like immortality, is hard to kill.
