La suisse à l'âge du fer : les helvètes, un mythe sous la loupe

Overview

The Helvetii undoubtedly shaped Switzerland's identity. However, recent discoveries show that the Helvetii did not arrive on the Swiss plateau until the 1st century BCE. In 58 BCE, they were planning to leave and emigrate to south-western Gaul. The role of the Helvetii is being re-examined, and with it the origins of the Swiss Confederation. Celtic culture, customs and beliefs offer a glimpse into a little-known world that goes far beyond the usual clichés. Soon, Roman occupation would impose a new way of life, marking a turning point in history and the end of an era.
