Overview

This film about the city’s industry depicts Oslo in the 19th century. It primarily shows scenes from the important Akerselva River, which was used for log driving, and illustrates how, after 1840, various factories and workshops were established along the river. With industrialization, the city grew. ***** Oslofilm was a series of public information films about life in and around Oslo, produced between 1940 and 1980.
